Dear all Malaysians, Happy Malaysia Day! It was on this day more than 50 years ago that Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak joined together to form a multi-racial, culturally diverse and beautiful Malaysia.
Here are some Malaysia fun facts! Did you know,
- The largest flower in the world grows in Malaysia. With a bloom that can extend more than 9 meters in diameter, the Rafflesia is the largest flower in the world. It grows in the rainforests of Borneo, and when blooming, the flower emits a putrid stench, giving rise to its nickname “corpse flower.”
- Malaysia is one of 17 countries with “megadiverse” wildlife. Most of the country is covered in rainforest, which hosts a huge diversity of plant and animal species, including the orang utan, the bizarre proboscis monkey, and the queer but adorable Malayan Tapir.
- Malaysia is home to the “King of Fruits”. Durians are widely acclaimed for their odour and bizarre flavour, that tastes like a combination of pineapple, onions, caramel, almond, butter, and cheese. It’s pungent smell has caused it to be banned in multiple premises in Malaysia itself, and yet people keep coming back for more!
- Cubicto Studio is literally a tiny version of the union of Malaysia, in the sense that Ellie is from Borneo, whereas Olaf is from Peninsular Malaysia.
🌺 We are all richer when we unite and respect each other. Our differences keep us unique, after all!
